Over the course of my career I have produced more than 50 films. I believe that the ability to take a chance with new directors and maintain a good relationship with them and with the writers is the basis of a successful film or series.
We have managed to produce commercial films and auteurist films with names such as: Jacques Audiard, José Antonio Bayona , Alejandro Amenábar, Julio Medem, Carlos Vermut, Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Isabel Coixet, Paco Plaza, Kike Maíllo, Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, among others.
Another of our defining elements is our international focus, with worldwide successes such as “28 Weeks Later” in co-production with Danny Boyle, which took some 64 million euros at the box office, or “The Impossible” with a take of over 180 million euros.
Our films have been sold throughout the world, accumulating an overall box office of 570M$, attracting over 80M people to the cinemas and obtaining more than 180 awards and 230 nominations.
And now we are delighted because between 2017 and 2018 Apache Films earned a total of 20 nominations for the Goya Awards, throughout five films, a series and a short film. This short film “Madre” co-produced by Apache Films, was nominated for an Oscar.
APACHE FILMS this year has premiered "The sister brothers" by Jacques Audiard, winner of the Silver Lion for best director and four Cesare awards. It is producing the third seasons of the series "Paquita Salas" and "Vergüenza". It will premiere the feature films "The Europeans" by Víctor García León and "Adiós" by Paco Cabezas, director of series as well known internationally as "Penny Dreadful" or "Alienist". And it is pre-producing new feature films with directors Paco Plaza and Miguel Ángel Vivas.
We have planned to grow in a well-organized way, based on a team that we have formed exclusively for the purpose of developing fiction, on our talent and on the authors who collaborate regularly with us.
